In the 1980s I did some work for Marvel's Star Comics' title,
ROYAL ROY. This was a kick, because the editor, Sid Jacobson had been
at Harvey Comics for years and the first comics pro I had ever met was
Sid
Couchey (Little Dot) --who had been my Sunday School teacher.
At some point I put together a proposal for another childrens' title
featuring a character I had used in the undergrounds, LITTLE GRUNT.
But Star went nova and Grunt was extinct... Until 2002, when
Brian
Clopper asked me to contribute material for his educational kids' comic,
IMAGINATION ROCKET. This would be my last professional appearance
in the comics field. Last ever? Hope not....
